If you’ve met me in person or talked to me on the phone or by Skype, you know I’m usually an optimistic, bubbly person. My best friend in college called me the toesocks fairy.
My Meyers-Briggs type is ENFP and I’m a yellow-blue according to the color code, so ALL THE FEELINGS ALL THE TIME. With lots of spastic creativity.
But my happy things are… ridiculously cheesy and often nostalgic. I do admit to fangirling. Anyway, here’s my list for the tag of happiness.
Songs That Make Me Happy: Shut Up And Dance by Walk the Moon, Home by Daughtry, Poppiholla by Chicane, All of Me by Jon Schmidt, Set Me On Fire by TFK (it was my theme song for 2014), Steal My Girl by One Direction, Can’t Take It In by Imogen Heap, Dare You To Move by Switchfoot, Galaxies by Owl City, Again by Secrets in Stereo, What Does the Fox Say by Ylvis, this Chariots of Fire techno remix, and a few worship songs from my childhood that weren’t ruined for me by fundamentalism like He is Exalted, Here I Am To Worship, He Has Made Me Glad, Great Is The Lord, and the entire Thorn soundtrack but especially Here is Our King because when I acted in the play that’s the part where we got to dance and wave palm branches. I also love the dubstep-ish remix of old hymns by EleventySeven on their album Good Spells. (I did warn you about the cheese.)
Books That Make Me Happy: The Monster at the End of This Book, Gabby the Shrew, The House in the Snow by Leslie Bowman, Fog Magic by Julia Sauer, Derwood Inc. by Jeri Massi (who has now left fundamentalism herself), Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine, Arcadia by Tom Stoppard, The Scarlet Pimpernel by Baroness Orczy, and the entire Harry Potter series because reasons.
Films That Make Me Happy: I’ve already told you guys how much I love Home. The Lion King, Frozen, Balto, Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron, Pan, Castle in the Sky, Tarzan, Music and Lyrics, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Snow White and the Huntsman. Yeah, you can laugh at me. All the cheese.
Food That Makes Me Happy: Mangoes, tomatoes, spaghetti, grits, pancakes, animal crackers, and anything from Del Taco or Whataburger.
Words That Make Me Happy: RANDOMLY (my absolute favorite word), arbitrarily, shiny, molecule, plasma, and Mullet Jesus. Wait, that isn’t just one word?
Scents That Make Me Happy: The mossy smell of sultry humidity in the shade in Southeast Texas, Chai tea, frankincense and myrrh, Colorado pine trees, backyard barbecue in the south, old clothes that smell like my mom or other family members.
Random Things That Make Me Happy: Slam poetry (!!!), roadtrips, watching my blue-yellowish lava lamp oozing, playing with my blue hair and seeing it in the mirror, snuggling in my baja hoodie that I bought with my friend Kat in Boulder, dancing outside in a drenching rain to this dubstep, wearing bright colored clothes with bold patterns, drying off with my Inside Out towel, snuggling my two kitties, and driving into Beaumont city limits (yes, every single time).
I don’t often don’t participate in these kinds of things (like Facebook copy-paste lists) unless someone special tagged me, but I spotted this over at Rambling Writer and it was too much like me to not do it. So. I tag Ivy.
Yay! So glad you did this. 😀 It’s a lovely tag.

Aww, you’re the best! I’m somewhere around ENFJ and INFJ–I’m definitely more extraverted and sensing than I used to be. No wonder we get along!
That being said, this post echoes something that’s kept me sane in 2015: being grateful. Even just making a quick mental list of things I’m glad about at the start and end of the day has really been good for my heart. In fact, despite all that I’ve told you about last year, it’s really been among the best years of my life.
I hope you’re well! I got those emails and your hints, never fear. XD
